EP review by Jonas

Spanish Bombs is back with their debut EP almost, not quite: the bedroom demos. Spanish Bombs is an emo-punk band from Bradenton, FL. Their debut single in late 2023 guts was a terrific debut from the lively young band. Now with a full EP, we see a band carving out their sound and style. The first track …the lesson is never try is track about addiction and the inability of friends to pull you out of your hole. The hi-hat and kick drum beat back and forth with a folk punk styled song writing very reminiscent of early Against Me. The second track (and my personal favorite) junk mail feels more in turn with their single guts. Junk Mail, feels like a classic Joyce Manor love song, especially in the way the build up chorus breaks into the verses. It is very easy to imagine the crowd yelling along:
“I know I don’t stand a chance right now /but I’m alright somehow / I trip over the sparkle in your eye / I don’t wanna ever take you for granted/ every single second of your time your heart is close to mine.”
The EP closes out with it’s the great pumpkin charlie brown. It is a track the represents the EP well with it’s high energy and pure fun. This debut EP is a great collection of tracks and we can not wait for what is next from Spanish Bombs.
