When everything you touch turns to gold, something is bound to even the scales.
Fully formed just last year, nowincolor release their debut single "Midas" today. nowincolor is an energetic alternative-rock band from Sarasota.
According to Greek mythology the story of King Midas is a story of a king who makes the regrettable wish that anything he touches turns to gold. He soon finds out that this "gold touch" includes food and his own daughter. He is never able to get rid of this curse and dies of starvation.
Kacey Grace seems to sing from both the point of view of Midas and Dionysus who granted Midas' wish. The track comes off as haunting as she convinces Midas that this gold touch is all he needs.
"Isn’t gold enough/Hey won’t you take my touch and/Let me make you shiver/Don’t you miss this rush/I know you’ve got bad luck but/I can make it better"
