Like rummaging through a box of 90s cassettes without labels, this weight will crush me feels nostalgic and warm. There is so much power in finding yourself as a songwriter on a music writing binge. The words flow right out and the music seems to write itself. Capturing that with noisey layered lofi recordings and you have yourself with 14 minutes of music from the heart. Chase Ruel has crafted a vibey lofi record that fits perfectly with the lofi records of the bay area's past.
